Our School Mission

“At Newman Primary School we are committed to providing a holistic, relevant and targeted education for each child that will provide them with a strong foundation for future learning in a rapidly changing and diverse society.”

As a primary school we acknowledge there is more to a student than just academic outcomes and that a holistic approach needs to be adopted towards student development. To be confident 21st Century learners it is important to acknowledge that our world is diverse and changing, and that we need to prepare students for this.

Our Motto

“Together We Grow”

Our motto reinforces our school community’s desire in working together to achieve shared goals. As well, the school motto reinforces our school value of cooperation and the crucial 21st Century attribute of teamwork.

Our values provide a foundation for building social responsibility and a sense of belonging through collaboration between student, family, school and the wider community.

By working together and helping others we will ensure that we have positive social interactions and are better able to make and keep friends.

Safety

Taking care of ourselves and others, and trying to be alert to things happening around us.  Having the courage to know when something is not right and being strong enough to seek help when needed, for ourselves and others

Respect

Thinking and acting in a positive way about yourself, others and the environment.  Demonstrating to others you care about their feelings and well-being.

Responsibility

We do the things that we are expected to do and know are right, and we accept the consequences of our actions.
